i was expecting the worst going into this purchase . finally made it up to my FFL/LGS friday, pulled the wasr out for a 5 point inspection and to my surprise the weapon was PERFECT ! CAI hit a homerun with the new wasr and for $600 i feel it was worth every penny . im setting my wasr up with polish furniture and FW. stock, this will be my rage/truck weapon . thank you Prepper's for a quality wasr looking forward to do business with you again .

Excellent AK, Especially For The Price

Picked this up from my FFL a couple days ago. Thoroughly inspected the rivets, sights, and action for any defects. Rivets were all tight and properly formed, sights were aligned perfectly with zero canting or anomalies. Gas block was straight with the rear sight block as well. No galling on the muzzle threads, minimal milling marks on the bolt carrier, and every part that needed oil had it straight out of the box. Next thing I did was check it with a couple mags. The Magpul that came with it fit and fed perfectly, but a Tapco (the only other mag in stock at the FFL) takes some wrestling to fit in the well due to it's wider profile in some places. Once the Tapco was "persuaded" into the magwell, it fed perfectly. The next day I was at an empty quarry with a friend who had an older WASR. We compared guns and found that the newer one had a ledge on the recoil spring bracket that keeps the dust cover from coming off accidentally. Shooting it was a blast, though I will probably get a new brake to tame the recoil. The safety lever is pretty stiff from the factory, but watching an AKOUL47-74 video gave me some tips on how to resolve that issue. All accounted for, it's a great AK for a great price. I look forward to shooting it more, perhaps with some glass and a brake to see just how accurate I can get it. Hopefully supply can meet up with demand and we can see more of these excellent rifles in the hands of upright citizens of the 50 States of the USA.
