Just received mine from here. I was initially worried about the condition it would be in since the photos make them look like they were dragged along the highway tied to a car, but that's probably the lighting or flash. When I received mine, the finish was just wearing thin in spots (not scraped off), and subjectively I'd say mine has just enough wear to have the charm/character I was looking for. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.
After about two decades, it works as well as a new Glock. The production of Gen 2 is approximately 1992-1998, making this over 20 years old. While it may have sat in storage for a few of its later years, it probably got heavy use, being DC Metro issued. The action works perfectly. No stoppages with full metal jacket or hollow point, and it takes both old and Gen 5 magazines. This thing looked really beat up upon taking it out of the case, but after the initial cleaning, there's a big difference in appearance. I was very impressed with the bore, considering how many shots must have gone through it, as well as the other parts. I got especially lucky with mine, considering that the recoil spring assembly appears to be new, and also that the night sights on mine still have some glow (still has about 75% brightness compared to my night sights on other glocks from 2022-2023). I guess the DC Metro cops liked these so much that they wanted to replace parts to extend the service life of these before letting them go. In a few decades, when Glock has moved on to producing Gen 7 or 8, I'd be happy to buy a DC Metro trade-in (of the service pistols currently in use) if Prepper is lucky enough to get them in their inventory again.
First time ordering from Preppergunshop, I’m very impressed. They had this pistol shipped and in my hands in less than a week! The gun itself has definitely seen some miles..if you get one, expect some holster wear and a less than factory new finish all the way around. There are places where the polymer frame is shiny from being used so much but this is exactly what I was looking for..a piece of LE and Glock history.
